The most prestigious IT awards in the Netherlands

For the 12th consecutive year, the awards will be presented to the best, most beautiful, complex or most comprehensive projects in the Netherlands. In twenty different categories, the jury grants awards toward companies, projects or people which, according to the Computable readers, have distinguished outstandingly. Chris Obdam is nominated in the category CEO of the year 2017 along with big names like Bas de Reus (Fujitsu Nederland) en Erik van der Meijden (Exact).

A visionary with common sense

The jury praises Chris Obdam for his down-to-earth approach. “Chris Obdam is a visionary CEO.” according to the jury. ”His organization managed to maintain a double growth rate for the past years, and now challenges software companies like Microsoft, Salesforce, Mendix en Outsystems.” Together with his brother Tim Obdam, they founded the first company almost 15 years ago. While living with their parents in a small town near Amsterdam the brothers founded Holder, an online product development company. The company quickly became a success, and soon the companies Betty Blocks (no-code platform for developing applications) and Woeler (social media marketing) followed. Currently, the employee headcount reaches over 100 altogether. Betty Blocks, the no-code platform for developing applications, is also one of the nominees in the category most leading cloud provider.
