We’re excited to announce a major upgrade to the Platform: the new Pages Compiler.
The new compiler is now enabled by default for all new applications created on or after 20th of January 2026, whether started from scratch or based on an application template (excluding on-premise customers).
Why using the new Pages Compiler?
Compared to the current version, it offers several advantages:
- Optimized query generation: Queries are now generated only for properties used on a page. This results in smaller, more efficient queries and a faster, smoother experience for end users.
- Improved merge performance: Currently, merging applications could feel slow. The new compiler resolves this, speeding up compiles after merges significantly.
- Full Betty Open compatibility: Only the new compiler’s output is compatible with Betty Open and can be exported as a React app to run on external hosting platforms.
- AI Betty Genius compatibility: For all current and upcoming AI-powered features.
- Packed with new features, such as:
- Page layouts for an increased reusability.
- Current user variables for an improved usability.
- Deep-linking support (return to referring URL) for a more seamless user authentication at runtime.
- And many more.
The new Pages Compiler is faster, smarter, and more powerful. By enabling it by default for all new applications, we’re giving developers a better experience and end users a faster runtime performance.
That was all for now, your feedback allows us to continuously improve our product. Please let us know what you think about it. Happy building! 😃
