Genius moves AI-powered application development from generating individual Pages to understanding and building an entire application. Including more advanced data models and business logic.
Genius AI isn't just a Page generator anymore, it's a platform-wide AI chat that works across Pages, Actions, Models, and Layouts within a single build session. Instead of working page-by-page, you can describe the application you want to create in a single conversation. Genius AI turns that request into a plan that brings together the key building blocks of your application. The result is a more connected, transparent, and confident way to build applications with AI.
Every prompt whether you're starting something new or refining what already exists now happens in Genius Chat. Describe what you want, and Genius AI turns it into a structured proposal with clear functional requirements for each application entity. Not quite right? Keep chatting you can refine it conversationally until it fits.
Before anything gets built, you can preview the full build plan in your application's blueprint view, so you know exactly what will be created or changed before generation starts. It's a fundamentally different flow from the old Modules approach: more visibility, more control, and no surprises after the fact, which is exactly the kind of confidence we want Genius AI to bring to building.
Every Page generated as part of your build plan now runs through a completely new Pages generator. The goal hasn't changed, Genius AI is still generating the UI pages your application needs, but the engine underneath, and what comes out the other end, is a different story.
Pages now come with more functionality built in from the start: data table filtering, pagination, and fully functional forms with success and error logic already wired in, rather than added afterward. The result is an end application with fewer loose ends and fewer invalid generation errors, and it all comes together up to 3 times faster than before, a difference that really adds up on multi-page builds.
An app needs more than an interface and a data model, it needs logic to make things happen. With this release, Genius AI can generate more complete actions and workflows, including conditional logic, loops, and calls to external services, not just basic create, update, and delete steps.
A few improvements make these workflows more practical:
Smarter authentication defaults: actions inherit the page's authentication automatically, avoiding mismatches like a public page with a private action.
Structured API responses: responses can be shaped into a schema model, so later steps work with defined fields instead of raw JSON.
The result: more complete logic, less manual work, and generated actions can still be reviewed and adjusted like any other action in your app.
The new Genius AI Chat replaces the previous Modules flow. If you have used Betty Blocks' AI application generation before, the starting point for generating multi-pages was Modules. That is no longer the case. The Modules overview and "create new module" flow are phased out and replaced by the Genius Chat, where you start and manage sessions instead.
This release is the first step in a broader evolution of Genius AI.
The next releases will bring more of the application-building experience into the same conversational interface, including AI-powered page editing through chat, single-page generation, data source generation and MCP server building. The latter will expand the ways you can start building, including working from a design, screenshot, or file.
These capabilities will follow in future releases as they become available.
